Welcome to the Hillsborough County Special Education PTA (HCSEPTA)! We are thrilled to have you here. We believe in the power of community to uplift and support every student. Whether you’re a parent, educator, or advocate, your presence makes a difference. Hillsborough County Schools have over 35,000 students with IEPs. That’s over 15% of the total student population, but parents and students often feel disconnected from the process and services available throughout the district. We are proud to be a resource and advocate for special education, dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Join Our Workshops

HCSEPTA believes the first step to building more inclusive PTAs comes from educating our boards, committees, members, and communities. Our team has created a series of workshops focused on this end, some of which will/have been featured at National PTA LegCon and the Florida PTA Leadership Conference. Advocacy and Support: We work with school administrators and the community to champion the rights and needs of special education students.

Who Are We?

HCSEPTA was officially chartered on May 15, 2024, with the goal of providing a dedicated space for families and educators to come together. We aim to address the unique needs of special education students and create a network of support and resources that benefits everyone involved.

A Special Education PTA (SEPTA) is a PTA organization affiliated with the State and National PTA. HCSEPTA serves all families, and educators in Hillsborough County, but was specifically established to address the unique needs of special education, special needs, and disabled students and families. Hillsborough County SEPTA launched as a 501c3 affiliated with the National PTA.  Our SEPTA is a member of the Hillsborough County Council Parent Teacher Association.
